A efficacy of Helianthi Annui Semen ( sunflower seed ) on analgesic effect , anti - inflammation and arthritis

Abstract
|
|
|
Objects : This experimental study was done to prove the efficacy of Helianthi Annui Semen extract on analgesic effects, anti-inflammatory effects and arthritis.
Methods : We studied the writhing syndrome in mice induced by 0.7% acetic acid for analgesic effects. We measured inhibitory effects on the paw-edema by acetic acid in rats to elucidate anti-inflammatory effects. And we studies the method of adjuvant arthritis to elucidate effects on arthritis.
Results : In analgesic effects, Helianthi Annui Semen extract treated group showed significant decrease in comparison with control group. In Anti-inflammatory effects, Helianthi Annui Semen extract treated group didn´t show significant changes in comparison with control group.
In the method of adjuvant arthritis, orally administered for 21 days, it significantly inhibited the hind paw edema in rats with Helianthi Annui Semen extract at the 5th day and 7th day. In the level of leucocyte counts, total protein, CRP and glucose, Helianthi Annui Semen extract treated group didn´t showed significant change in comparison with control group. In the level of platelet count, Helianthi Annui Semen extract treated group showed significant decrease in comparison with control group.
Conclusion : Reviewing these experimental results, it appears that Helianthi Annui Semen have efficacy on analgesic effects, anti-inflammatory effects and arthritis.
